365bet体育网址 at carthage, donors have the opportunity to support the things that matter most to them. all contributions to carthage ultimately support its overall mission. carthage offers many ways for donors to support campus activities, academic programs, faculty, students, and campus stewardship.
The Carthage Fund
365bet体育网址 giving to the carthage fund is the foundation of support for the college’s mission. carthage fund gifts — both unrestricted and specifically designated — support the day-to-day operation of the college, meaning everything from the salaries of professors to financial aid for students. through the carthage fund, the college can flexibly fund new initiatives and needs that will have the greatest near-term impact, raising the quality of educational, cultural, and co-curricular programs significantly.
Investment in the College’s infrastructure is arguably one of the most effective ways of investing in the long-term future of the College. Recent projects include the new Tower Residence Hall, completed in August 2018; the new Science Center, completed in 2015, and the Campbell Student Union365bet体育网址, completed in 2011. New construction and renovations are undertaken not just with the next few years in mind, but with an eye on the next century, as well. These are facilities that will withstand the test of time. Their initial price is considerable, but in the long run, they are a tremendous value. Future donors need not worry about replacing what our generation will have left for them.
the endowment supports student scholarships and curricular and co-curricular programs in perpetuity. a gift to the endowment helps both current students and those who will be here 50 or 100 years from now, and reflects a commitment to the future success of carthage. the college makes prudent investments and spends income with restraint, so as to protect the purchasing power of a donor’s fund across time. donors often designate their estate gifts for the endowment, knowing that resources they have built throughout a lifetime will continue to be governed by a long-term view, becoming a memorial to hard work and discipline.
Wiggan-Kenniebrew Endowed Scholarship Fund
the wiggan-kenniebrew endowed scholarship fund will provide scholarships for multicultural students, with a preference for those who identify as black, african american, multiracial, or who demonstrate a commitment to the african american community through membership in a student group that builds community and awareness around african american identity. we seek to raise a total of $75,000 in year one of this scholarship program. all contributions are welcome; a gift of $2,500 would provide half the annual scholarship amount for one student.
Wiggan-Kenniebrew Experiential Learning Fund
The Wiggan-Kenniebrew Experiential Learning Fund will provide support for multi-cultural students to participate in co-curricular opportunities such as travel abroad (semester-long or J-Term365bet体育网址), workshops and conferences, alternative spring break trips to retrace the freedom fighters’ steps in the south, or insight visits to companies that have diversity hiring initiatives. We seek to raise a total of $15,000 for this fund. Contributions of any size are welcome!
mark your place in carthage history by purchasing a commemorative paver on the carthage campus. granite walkways lined with commemorative pavers lead to sidewalks that connect the entire campus. names of alumni and friends of the college are etched in sections of these attractive walkways. choose between a personal paver (4” by 8” with three lines), a recognition paver (8” by 8” with five lines or one line and a logo), or a large recognition paver (12” by 12” with seven lines). note: parents of seniors receive a discount each year.
since 1895, carthage has competed in intercollegiate athletics with the same goals in mind: to win athletic contests and championships and to teach the values and leadership skills that are essential in athletic competition and in life after carthage. your donation to the booster club helps support programs designed to achieve these goals.
